Umair is a passionate student of the technology in each of our bodies, in continued research via various somatic practices with a primary focus in Contact Improvisation. He is a lover of life and community. Umair organizes a biweekly contact improvisation jam and participates in supporting various other community events. He is motivated to bring forth transformative programming for Interfusion Festival as Director of the Conscious Dance and Live Music Program.
Umair has a 10+ year active career in Intellectual Property field, a certified yoga teacher and the founder of Aquanimous, which markets sustainable cork-based yoga, recovery and self-massage tools. Umair believes personal wellness cannot happen in a vacuum and values an integral approach with environmental and social consciousness. In his free time Umair enjoys drinking and serving tea, staying active, and creative engagements.
