About me
Matthew Rivera, also known as DJ MaZ-R, was born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico currently residing in Miami, Florida. He grew up listening to all of the Afro-Latin rhythms of his culture, which peaked his interest in music as an adolescent. He was able to build upon his interest while traveling around the world and the United States during his active service in the military. His travels allowed him to experience a plethora of diverse music styles and dances which further increased his love for music and dance which quickly catapulted him into Djing and teaching dance. As a result, he then began organizing regular dance socials and large weekenders for his local community bringing in both local and international dance instructors and DJs.
Currently, Matthew works as an IT network and systems engineer, which is another of his passions. There is no computer issue too large for this master engineer to tackle. Leaning on over 15 years in the entertainment business, Matthew has also added photography, videography, and audio installation/preparation to his skillset. He is respected for the uniqueness, experience, and creativity that he brings to any event that he is involved in.
