Trigger Point Thai Bodywork for Dancers 🌶️ 🌶️
Monday January 13, 2025 11:00am - 12:30pm EST
This workshop combines the techniques of Traditional Thai Massage with the theory of Myofascial Trigger Point therapy. Trigger points are like little knots in muscle fibers that are located in the belly or center of a muscle. The application of pressure and the movement of muscles in Thai Massage is very effective for relieving these knots. You will learn some common trigger point locations in the feet and legs and how to relieve them on another person. This is perfect for anyone who is on their feet dancing all night.

🌶️ 🌶️ Medium: The workshop invites sensuality, moving touch, cuddles, or extended close physical contact with others, but does NOT invite sexuality or nudity.

BIPOC Fishbowl 🌶️
Monday January 13, 2025 11:00am - 12:30pm EST
This fishbowl will be a space where Interfusion participants who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color can share transparently about challenges and growth edges at Interfusion. It will be a space to look at how larger social dynamics of oppression and marginalization show up in our community. This fishbowl will be an opportunity for White participants to listen and think about how to show up as allies for BIPOC communities. We will apply principles of emergent strategy to enable White participants to think of specific ways to manifest solidarity.

🌶️ Mild: The workshop does not invite sensuality or sexuality. There will be no facilitator invitations to cuddle or share moving touch, plus no welcoming or invoking of sexual energy. Any partner dancing that occurs will default to or center open position.

Body Show and Tell (Touch and Smell?) 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Monday January 13, 2025 11:00am - 12:30pm EST
In a society that profits from our self-doubt, it can be difficult to fully embrace and celebrate our bodies. Body Show and Tell is a powerful tool to help heal body shame and foster body positivity. Got a uniquely shaped birthmark, a secret tattoo, or a scar with a story to tell? Stretch marks, belly rolls, body hair, or facial features you have complicated feelings about? A part that doesn’t accurately represent who you are—or perhaps one that newly does? A booty shake that just won’t stop? We want to see it! Whether you want to be tenderly held in your vulnerability or celebrated in something you’re proud of, this session will provide a space to support you in a positive relationship with your body, and a chance to support others in theirs.

In small groups, each participant will get an opportunity to show and tell about a part of your body. Then you will have the option to invite your groupies to ask questions, make observations, or explore your body part with their other senses. If you prefer to just be witnessed with no feedback or interaction, or ask only for compliments, you can do that, too—whatever feels most healing or celebratory for you. No body parts are off limits—full nudity is welcome in this session, but not required. There will be a section of the room designated for people who want to keep clothes on, and you can choose to be in a group with others who share specific identities that are important to you. Every body is welcome!!

🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ Spicy: The workshop invites participants to bring up, focus on, act from, or interact with others using their sexuality or sexual energy; OR welcome

Yoga Flow & Gong Resonance Meditation 🌶️
Monday January 13, 2025 11:00am - 12:30pm EST
Join David for his own personal fusion blend of foundational Hatha yoga and Kundalini kriya yoga. Utilizing deep powerful breathing techniques combined with continuous repetitive movements, our aim will be to open up and unlock the spine. Applying long holds in static Hatha postures that will steadily evolve into a mindful vinyasa flow state at times, we will strengthen, invigorate and move our bodies together. David’s thorough and meticulously detailed instruction of how we will move and breathe through this practice allows for all levels of experience to feel welcome. Props like blankets, blocks, belts, bolsters are all highly recommended but not required. At the conclusion of the physical portion of the class, we will take an extended savasana where David will bathe all participants in a powerful sound bath with his array of large gongs. This is sure to be a potent experience to top off your Interfusion 2025!

🌶️ Mild: The workshop does not invite sensuality or sexuality. There will be no facilitator invitations to cuddle or share moving touch, plus no welcoming or invoking of sexual energy. Any partner dancing that occurs will default to or center open position.
