Exploring Connection: Partner Games and Concepts 🌶️ 🌶️
Sunday January 12, 2025 11:00am - 12:30pm EST
“A partnering practice is centered around building a relationship with reality”
-Tom Weklser
In this experience, we explore working with another. Whether we look at our partner as a human being, the space, the floor, an apparatus, the music, or a blank canvas, there is a clear response you receive when working with something outside of yourself—a response that is true and informative. We utilize a practice that draws from many others with the goal of finding common themes and principles across movement disciplines to explore connection, attunement, and discovery through a lens of serious play. Join us for an hour and a half full of partner games, exercises, and explorations that are certain to level up your ability to move within another in your favorite disciplines.

Your guides will be Dr. Harnoor Singh (@movementwithnoor), a doctor of physical therapy, and Logan DiTillo (@logamotion), a nomadic movement teacher and acrobat. They are well-educated and extremely welcoming teachers of this art, and their goal is to guide you through a playful, eye-opening, and liberating hour and a half of Partner-based Movement.

🌶️ 🌶️ Medium: The workshop invites sensuality, moving touch, cuddles, or extended close physical contact with others, but does NOT invite sexuality or nudity.

Acro Intensive: Whip-carian Series III/III (Add On) 🌶️ 🌶️
Sunday January 12, 2025 3:30pm - 5:30pm EST
APPLY HERE FOR THIS ADD-ON INTENSIVE

Day 1 - Precision Icarian
The first day we will focus on cleaning up Icarian skills to make them precise and tempo-able. Expect to refine skills you have done before - working towards mastery of these skills. We will also incorporate some unique pops and drills you may not have worked on before! This lesson will build towards linking skills together for seamless icarian flows.

Prereqs: Straight throws in bird and throne

Day 2 - Whip Mastery
We will work towards building whip technique for more dynamic skills. We have specific techniques that we have learned from teachers all over the world as well as developed through our own training that we love to share. This lesson will give you a deeper understanding of these skills and all of the building blocks needed for progressing toward more dynamic whip pops. We will touch on nervous system regulation, dynamic spotting, and how to keep these skills safe.

Prereqs: Comfort in bird, throne, reverse bird, and reverse throne. Some experience attempting whips is helpful.

Day 3 - Jump Start your Whip Pops
Whether you’ve done a handful of whip pops, or you’re still working towards your first one, this class will have content for you. We will have a short recap of the first two lessons leading into dynamic entries in and out of whips. Multiple levels of content will be offered and students can work at their own pace. Our goal is to offer a clear and safe pathway - it is most important to us for our students to learn when they are ready for the next progression, and when they need to continue repping out certain drills.

Prereqs: Comfort with whips, and basic icarian transitions such as bird to throne. Doing the first two workshops covers these prereqs.

APPLY HERE FOR THIS ADD-ON INTENSIVE - Registration for this add-on requires meeting prerequisites and completing an application process. In order to participate, it is necessary to have a full pass for the Festival. After submitting your application and responding to the check-out questions in full, your request will be assessed by the Interfusion Team. If additional information is required, such as a video of your skills, it will be communicated to you by email. If you do not meet the qualifications for the intensive this year, you will receive a full refund of the intensive ticket. APPLY HERE FOR THIS ADD-ON INTENSIVE
